I figured that if I had a ninja GL, it would only make sense to do a samurai one too! I also picked up on the missed opportunity that someone kindly pointed out, about them using the ring to create a sword instead of using a real one. They'd probably still use their real ones though, simply because they love them and couldn't bear to get rid of them.
I'd say you're right about keeping their old gear for sentimental reasons.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lantern in the comics who refuses to use the ring for anything more than flight and space travel, 'cause he prefers his own two fists.
He's a dirty great muscly bugger with stone skin, but even so.
Really like this guys design and the way you meshed it with the GL look. Nice!
ReplyDeleteAlso don't see too many Lantern's with mustaches. A crime.
ReplyDeleteOh, fantastic. That's the most detailed one yet. No wonder you're falling behind ;)
ReplyDeleteA GL Samurai in the Tokugawa period would be awesome. Better than Marvel's 1602, that's for sure.
green lantern's my fav DC character. Your work is fun (I've especially been following these greenlantern posts!
ReplyDeletesome suggestions: more elemental ones! mythological gods and creatures. agent orange! inanimate objects. armless creatures. sports legends. deceased musicians! Holiday mythological figures i.e. santa claus and the easter bunny.
these are the strangest things ever. But I dig 'em. Great samurai.
